I put in at Copano Causeway, once again. Since Pop’s announced he was shutting the Marina (on Copano Ridge Rd.) I didn’t want to waste any time in case he closed the ramp, already. I managed to round up some live shrimp at Fulton Harbor. …..read about the rest of the day

I put in at the Copano Bay Causeway State Park and scooted right up the InterCoastal, through Mesquite Bay to Cedar Bayou. There was some activity on the South shore of the entrance to Cedar Bayou. I gave it a go and picked up a small speck or two on Pumpkin Seed/Chartreuse Eel (Bass Assasin). Most of the activity appeared to be bait and Skip Jack, however. …..read about the rest of the day

We put in at Pop’s Marina on Copano Ridge Rd.  Mickey is closing the place and building condos. Too bad. this facility on Copano Bay will be dearly missed. As a teenager I worked on a shrimp boat and fished Copano Bay from this Marina on a boat named “Little Guy” in the late ’70′s.

We put in during a beautiful sunrise and calm seas. First target on the list is the longest pier after exiting the cut-off channel heading North from Cove Harbor (Aransas Bay). This spot is good for Trout on live Croaker early in the morning during certain periods of the year. Nothing happening today, however.
